A prominent Australian food manufacturer is seeking a skilled Electrical Team Leader to manage its maintenance operations.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of tradespeople to maintain the company's food processing plant, equipment, and services in a safe, reliable, and efficient condition. This hands-on role demands leadership, prioritization, and completion of tasks to support production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate maintenance activities for maintenance trades and external contractors, approving job safety analyses and permits as required.
  • Perform planned preventative and condition-based maintenance to a high standard on food processing plant and equipment.
  • Address electrical breakdowns, fault-find, and repair equipment safely and diligently.
  • Participate in automation and electrical improvement projects.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis, asset condition reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability and throughput.
  • Follow protocols and processes for removing or replacing parts or tools from the store.
  • Complete detailed job safety analysis documentation, high-risk work permits, and follow intrusive maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Maintain equipment safety systems and participate in regular safety and quality walks.

The position requires trade qualifications, experience working in a manufacturing environment with automated production equipment, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable skills include knowledge of occupational health and safety (OHSE) and quality systems, ability to work in a team environment, and competence in Microsoft Office software, safety reporting systems, contractor management, and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
