Key Position Description

This position is responsible for developing and implementing innovative communication strategies to promote Australian consumers' interests. The successful candidate will serve as a key ambassador, supporting the public relations team in crafting and executing timely and impactful cross-channel campaigns.

The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, partnering closely with the Strategic Communications Manager to deliver successful earned media and owned channel strategies. Key responsibilities include designing and delivering compelling press materials and insightful research reports, building positive connections with key media contacts, and providing briefings and training to the expert team.

Requirements:

  • A formal qualification in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • At least five years of media relations experience in a large organisation and/or customer-facing brand.
  • A genuine interest in finance topics and a desire to help consumers better navigate their options.
  • Ability to ideate, source, write, and place stories within the media.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for turning complicated topics/research/analysis into more easily digestible messages for consumers.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring platforms/providers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to form close working and professional relationships within cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an unrivalled eye for detail.
  • Strong project management skills to manage schedules, deadlines, and priorities.
