About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective communication strategies, managing stakeholder engagement, and providing expert advice to senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive communication plans aligned with project timelines and goals
  • Create engaging content for various platforms, including media releases, stakeholder updates, and social media
  • Provide strategic guidance on engagement and issues management to internal teams and executives
  • Design and coordinate community consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
  • Monitor media sentiment and support the preparation of briefings and responses
  • Transform complex information into clear, concise messaging that meets accessibility and branding guidelines
About You
  • You possess extensive experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, or media
  • You excel at writing and editing, with a keen sense of tone and clarity
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and can effectively work across diverse stakeholder groups
  • A background in infrastructure or public projects is highly desirable
  • You thrive in high-pressure situations and can manage competing deadlines with ease
  • You understand government processes and community engagement standards
Desirable Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Familiarity with engagement tools and channels is beneficial
