Procurement Specialist Opportunity

This role involves ensuring a continuous supply of direct materials for production work.

It is not just about placing orders but closely coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to maintain production of life-saving medication.

The Role:

  • Place orders with suppliers according to Material Requirement Planning (MRP) in a SAP S/4HANA environment, negotiate delivery timeframes, obtaining confirmations to provide an uninterrupted supply of raw materials for Production.
  • Review MRP and important MRP parameters, expedite and de-expedite, communicating any delays to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate supplier delivery dates and quantities and follow up past due orders.
  • Partner with suppliers (local & overseas), freight forwarders and internal stakeholders regarding delivery arrangements and documentation.
  • Process purchase requisitions to create purchase orders, and updating all purchase orders on a continuous basis to ensure order accuracy.
  • Work with the Sourcing team to monitor supplier performance and build supplier relationships for key materials.
  • Build strong relationships with key internal customers to ensure our requirements are met and new opportunities are identified to continuously improve Procurement services.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Logistics or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a Buyer/Planner in a SAP environment.
  • Experience with MRP planning and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of key MRP planning parameters, along with advanced Excel skills.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing, FMCG and/or pharmaceutical environment would be advantageous.
