Procurement Manager Role

We are seeking a strategic procurement leader to drive growth and development of our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business with exponential growth prospects.

This high-calibre role involves leading a team of Supply Chain experts, working closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

As Procurement Manager, your leadership will be crucial in achieving the wider business strategy, including driving double-digit growth over the next five years.

The organisation has a portfolio of successful products in high demand across major supermarkets nationwide, with an innovative pipeline of new products that excite consumers.

Direct procurement responsibilities include:

  • Managing raw material supply through collaboration with farmers
  • Maintaining in-house manufacturing
  • Operating a 3PL distribution network

You will also develop strategies and manage indirect procurement activities.

Your key tasks and decisions will include:

  • Developing an understanding of strategy and advocating opportunities to maximise effectiveness from procurement activities
  • Implementing procurement processes to ensure best value sourcing
  • Delivering long-term strategy for agriculture procurement ensuring seasonal supply of key raw material commodities
  • Developing category plans that deliver sustainability and risk management outcomes

Additionally, you will be responsible for key supply KPIs, including delivery of direct material COGS in line with targets, Vendor delivery (SIFOT), and Vendor quality outcomes.

Attributes required for this role include:

  • Demonstrated ability to partner by challenging and influencing decisions
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced environment
  • Commercial acumen and agility
  • Understanding of profit drivers externally and internally

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Business or similar
  • SAP experience
  • Sound knowledge of tendering guidelines
  • Fundamental understanding of Vendor Management practices

Experience in commercial FMCG and strategic procurement is highly desirable.
