Job Title: WHS & Risk Coordinator

Job Summary:

The WHS & Risk Coordinator will play a critical role in coordinating a specialist team that provides risk management support and WHS services to the Council. The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the enterprise risk management framework, coordinate the development of WHS Management systems, and facilitate business planning across the WHS Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise risk management framework, with a focus on WHS risks.
  • Coordinate the development, review, and continuous improvement of WHS Management systems.
  • Facilitate business planning across the WHS Team, including the development and implementation of the WHS Strategic Action Plan and business plans.
  • Review, develop, update, and execute WHS operational protocols, goals, and business plans to ensure compliance with regulations and licensing requirements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated WHS and risk senior specialist experience in a diverse operational service delivery focused organisation.
  • Significant experience leading and delivering safety leadership advice and expert support to resolve problems or investigate and respond to business continuity matters or serious incidents.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships and stakeholder management through advanced communication skills and approachable style.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including a proven track record of systems/process improvement and delivery.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Local Government.
  • Additional relevant qualifications in Workplace Training & Evaluation, Incident Investigation, and Return to Work Coordination.
