The WHS & Risk Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the effective and proactive delivery of workplace health and safety services across the organization. This position coordinates a specialist team that provides risk management support and ensures compliance with regulations and licensing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a robust enterprise risk management framework, focusing on WHS risks.
  • Coordinate the development, review, and continuous improvement of WHS management systems.
  • Facilitate business planning across the WHS team, including the development and implementation of the WHS strategic action plan and business plans.
  • Review, develop, update, and execute WHS operational protocols, goals, and business plans to ensure compliance with regulations and licensing requirements.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated WHS and risk senior specialist experience in a diverse operational service delivery-focused organization.
  • Significant experience leading and delivering safety leadership advice and expert support to resolve problems or investigate and respond to business continuity matters or serious incidents.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships and stakeholder management through advanced communication skills and an approachable style.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including a proven track record of systems/process improvement and delivery.
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of local government.
  • Additional relevant qualifications in workplace training and evaluation, incident investigation, and return-to-work coordination.
