Technical Fleet Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.
This role will involve performing routine maintenance tasks on a rotating basis, supporting service faults with technical advice to minimize their impact.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as the ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
A significant amount of experience in a technical role maintaining and repairing the NGR fleet is required.
Additionally, relevant trade and/or engineering qualifications are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on a rotating basis, ensuring high-quality workmanship and minimal disruption to services.
- Support service faults with technical advice, providing solutions to minimize their impact.
- Liaise with superintendents to effect repairs without impacting service performance.
- Assist in identifying and producing vehicle modification programs to improve reliability and maintainability.
- Monitor fleet performance using on-board diagnostics and remote monitoring systems, providing KPIs on critical systems like HVAC, toilets, and doors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the NGR fleet and sub-systems.
- Significant experience in a technical role maintaining and repairing the NGR fleet.
- Relevant trade and/or engineering qualifications.
- Critical role in supporting safe train operations in QLD.
