Multidisciplinary Forensic Mental Health Leader

This leadership role is an opportunity to make a significant impact in the forensic mental health sector. The position requires strong management and supervision skills, as well as expertise in clinical and forensic mental health practice.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation and operation of services at the Lara Precinct, which includes four correctional centres: Barwon Prison, Marngoneet Correctional Centre, Karreenga, and the new Western Plains Correctional Centre. The role also involves providing high-level advice to the Operations Manager and Executive Director of Prison Operations on emerging issues in forensic mental health within prison services.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of current approaches in working with mentally and behaviourally disordered clients in the forensic mental health setting. They will also have expertise in providing individual or group treatment with clients with mental illness, as well as clinical or forensic program development and evaluation.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, management and supervision of staff and students
- Proven ability to provide strategic advice in relation to service development and practice within a complex organisational setting
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, the mental health system, and the criminal justice system
