The role of a Mental Health Clinician is to provide care and support to individuals within the correctional system. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver recovery-oriented assessment and treatment plans, and collaborate with key stakeholders to facilitate consumer recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive recovery-oriented assessment and treatment of patients in a custodial setting.
  • Contribute to the development and review of comprehensive Mental Health Recovery Plans, including transition, risk management, and crisis plans.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders, including primary health providers, and other services, to support care planning and delivery.
  • Support and educate families and carers in the ongoing treatment and care of the consumer.
Requirements:
  • Approved qualification in nursing, social work, psychology, or occupational therapy.
  • Post-qualification experience in mental health, preferably recent experience in community mental health or secondary/tertiary mental health services.
