Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in leading the implementation and operation of services at the Lara Precinct. Your responsibilities will include managing and overseeing the coordination of regional clinics, setting service directions as part of our prison management team, and providing high-level advice to senior leaders on emerging issues in forensic mental health.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced clinical services, including advising on complex client issues and coordinating the delivery of services at the Lara Precinct and regional clinics. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve service reputation and growth.

This is a multidisciplinary role that requires expertise in working with mentally or behaviourally disordered clients in the forensic mental health setting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, the mental health system, and the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the implementation and operation of Forensicare services at the Lara Precinct.
  • Set service directions as part of the Forensicare prison management team.
  • Provide high-level advice to senior leaders on emerging issues in forensic mental health.
  • Provide advanced clinical services, including advising on complex client issues.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services at the Lara Precinct and regional clinics.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, the mental health system, and the criminal justice system.
