Forensicare provides outpatient secondary mental health services to individuals in a custodial setting. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that works together to provide care and facilitate recovery for consumers using evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive recovery-oriented assessment and treatment of patients in a custodial setting.
  • Develop and review comprehensive Mental Health Recovery Plans, including transition, risk management, and crisis plans.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders to support care planning and delivery.
  • Support and educate families and carers in the ongoing treatment and care of the consumer.

Requirements
  • Approved qualification in nursing, social work, psychology, or occupational therapy.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration (for Nursing).
  • Approved degree in social work or other qualifications eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (for Social Work).
  • Approved degree in Occupational Therapy, eligibility for OT Australia membership, and current AHPRA registration (for Occupational Therapy).
  • Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (APAC accredited) or Forensic Psychology, with eligibility for membership of relevant psychological colleges and current AHPRA registration (for Psychology).
