Key Governance Role

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists is seeking an Independent Board Director to join its Board. This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute governance expertise to an organisation making a tangible difference in women's health and wellbeing across Australia and New Zealand.

Job Description:

This is a unique chance for individuals with strong governance skills and experience to make a meaningful impact on healthcare policy and practice in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all Board meetings and Council meetings.
  • Support the Board with specific skills and experience.
  • Engage and effectively communicate with members, trainees, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in RANZCOG bodies in accordance with their respective terms of reference.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in governance or corporate strategy with strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Preferably legal, finance, or governance background.
  • Previous experience as a Board Director in a not-for-profit, healthcare, regulatory, or professional membership organisation.
  • Willingness to complete training in Discrimination, Bullying, Harassment, and Sexual Harassment (DBSH) and cultural safety and competency.
