Independent Director Role

We are seeking an independent board director to join our organisation's governing body.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute governance expertise and make a tangible difference in the health and wellbeing of women across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend all board meetings, including face-to-face and online sessions
- Support the board by drawing upon specific skills and experience
- Engage and effectively communicate with members, trainees, staff, and other stakeholders
- Participate in RANZCOG bodies as per respective terms of reference
- Be fully conversant with business operations and legal obligations
With approximately 11 board meetings annually, attendance at all scheduled meetings is essential. We will cover reasonable travel expenses for attending board meetings.
Requirements:- Demonstrated expertise in governance or corporate strategy, with a strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities
- Preferably, a background in law, finance, or governance
- Previous experience as a board director in a not-for-profit, healthcare, regulatory, or professional membership organisation, ensuring familiarity with governance best practices
- Willingness to complete training in Discrimination, Bullying, Harassment, and Sexual Harassment (DBSH) and cultural safety and competency as prescribed by the College
