
Supporting Students with Special Needs in a Dynamic Educational Environment

We are seeking an experienced and caring Teachers' Aide to join our Primary school, which specializes in educating students on the Autism Spectrum. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of these amazing individuals.
About the Role
As a Teachers' Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting students with higher level needs. Your primary responsibility will be to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students with special needs, adapting your approach to meet their unique requirements;
- Assist teachers in lesson planning, preparation, and implementation, ensuring that every student has access to quality education;
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, identifying areas of strength and need for additional support;
- Contribute to creating a positive classroom culture, promoting social skills, empathy, and self-confidence among students;
- Work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in working with children with higher level needs, preferably in an educational setting;
- Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent, with a strong understanding of child development principles;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families;
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving goals;
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in special education.
Desirable Skills and Experiences
- Experience working in a diverse educational environment, with a proven track record of adaptability and flexibility;
- Familiarity with relevant software applications and technology tools, used in education and special education settings.
