Professional Indemnity Claims Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lawyer - Professional Indemnity to join our team at Hooker & Heijden. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Professional Indemnity claims and incidents, working closely with clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders to achieve superior results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage Professional Indemnity claims and incidents, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders to negotiate settlements and resolve claims efficiently.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the insurance industry, including the Insurance Contracts Act and the Insurance and Privacy Code.
- Provide expert advice on policy interpretation, liability, and quantum, ensuring that clients receive the best possible outcomes.
- Work closely with the claims team to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of the insurance industry, including the Insurance Contracts Act and the Insurance and Privacy Code.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, underwriters, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
