Professional Indemnity Claims Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Indemnity Claims Specialist to join our team at Hooker & Heijden. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Professional Indemnity incidents and claims, providing expert advice and guidance to our clients, and working closely with our underwriters and brokers to achieve superior results.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage a portfolio of Professional Indemnity claims, including evaluating liability and financial exposure, and developing strategies for resolution.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on Professional Indemnity claims, including assessing quantum and reserve, and identifying conflicts of interest.
- Work closely with underwriters and brokers to develop and implement effective claims strategies, and to achieve superior results for our clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, claimants, and other stakeholders, and communicate effectively through written and verbal means.
- Conduct file and claim reviews, and provide training and support to junior team members as required.
- Support the achievement of company goals and vision, including effective file and claim management, account retention, and development of new business.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex claims and develop effective strategies for resolution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, claimants, and other stakeholders.
- Proven experience in Professional Indemnity claims, with a strong understanding of the insurance industry, including the Insurance Contracts Act and the Insurance and Privacy Code.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and quality.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as a law degree or a certification in claims management.
- Experience working in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the insurance industry and the claims process.
- Strong knowledge of the Insurance Contracts Act and the Insurance and Privacy Code.
