Hotel Maintenance Expert

We are seeking a skilled Hotel Maintenance Expert to lead and coach our engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a landmark hotel opening in one of Victoria's most exciting waterfront destinations.

The ideal candidate will have advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certification and license are required if necessary by law.

A strong ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities is essential for this role. The successful candidate will also possess excellent communication skills, be passionate about developing their team, and have strategic thinking.

  • Conduct regular facilities inspections to identify defects and coordinate repairs with contractors and vendors.
  • Oversee the procurement of hotel equipment and machinery to ensure all equipment is installed and in working order prior to opening.
  • Ensure the hotel meets all safety and regulatory requirements, including compliance with building codes, fire safety regulations, and health standards.

  • Coaching and leading the maintenance team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to create a safe and secure environment for guests.
  • Collaborating with contractors and vendors to develop and maintain maintenance agreements.

Requirements:

  • Advanced vocational training in building maintenance or construction.
  • Minimum two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certification and license if necessary by law.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
