Maintenance Supervisor - Hotel Operations

We are seeking an accomplished Maintenance Supervisor to join our hotel operations team.

  • As a key member of the pre-opening team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our new hotel is ready to welcome guests, including:

Daily Operations

  • Conduct thorough facilities inspections to identify any defects or issues with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and FF&E, coordinating repairs or installations as needed.
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and machinery, ensuring all necessary items are installed and functioning properly prior to opening.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, including building codes, fire safety regulations, and health standards.
  • Recruit and onboard maintenance team members, providing comprehensive training to ensure they are equipped to succeed in their roles.
  • Manage daily maintenance needs, allocating tasks effectively to ensure seamless hotel operations.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to develop and maintain maintenance agreements, fostering strong working relationships for ongoing support.
  • Create a preventative maintenance program that ensures a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for our guests.

Requirements

  • Advanced vocational training plus two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certification and licensure, if required by law.
  • Hotel experience preferred, but not essential.
  • A proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a passion for developing and supporting your team.
  • Strategic thinking, with a willingness to explore new ways of working and drive innovation within the hotel.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in additional languages a plus.
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
