Mental Health Clinician

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will be part of a dedicated team serving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Your role will involve providing non-clinical counselling and social work services to support clients in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct culturally appropriate assessments to identify physical, psychological, and social aspects of clients' social and emotional issues.
  2. Provide one-on-one sessions to explore personal challenges, set recovery goals, and develop coping strategies tailored to individual client needs.
  3. Facilitate group therapy sessions promoting peer support, shared experiences, and collaborative learning among clients.
  4. Create individualised treatment plans incorporating clients' goals, preferences, and specific needs.
Selection Criteria:
  1. Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  2. Proven experience within a mental health context.
  3. Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and healthcare needs.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, engaging with diverse communities.
Mandatory Requirements:
  1. Current working with children check – blue card.
  2. Current open driver's licence.
  3. Relevant tertiary qualification such as social work, psychology, counselling, or a related field.
