The Clinical Nurse Educator plays a pivotal role in the delivery of quality clinical services by providing professional development programs, supervision and support to mental health clinicians.
Key objectives include improving knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with best practice, National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce, the mental health & wellbeing workforce capability framework and service development requirements.
- Mandatory qualifications include current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years' experience working in mental health nursing and possession of a postgraduate mental health qualification.
- Preferred candidates will have demonstrated commitment to the attainment of mental health nursing excellence through participation in identification of staff educational needs and development, implementation and evaluation of staff professional development and training programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policy, standards and legislation relating to nursing practice and mental health service delivery and care are essential.
- The ideal candidate will be able to support and supervise staff and students on clinical placements and act as a role model of nursing excellence.
