About this role:
We are seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, belonging and wellbeing of all children and young people in the child protection process.
Key responsibilities include delivering statutory child protection services including assessment, intervention, casework and case management in accordance with legislation, practice guidelines and a strengths-based framework for practice.
This includes working in partnership with peak bodies, service providers and communities to deliver the best outcomes for all Queensland children and their families.
The Stronger Families Reform Program focuses on delivering the right services at the right time to support families and keep children safely at home.
A key focus of this role is increasing kinship placement options for children in care by engaging extended family, kin and community for children in out-of-home care.
This requires a skilled professional who is passionate and enthusiastic to deliver positive outcomes to children through kinship exploration work with families.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of child protection principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key requirements:
- Qualifications in social work or a related field
