Postgres Database Specialist

A leading organization in the data and AI space is seeking a highly skilled Postgres Database Specialist to join their global team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and managing Postgres databases, as well as providing top-notch support and guidance to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and manage Postgres databases with expertise
  • Partner closely with clients to provide expert advice and execution following best practices
  • Lead and enable Support Services Analytics SME pod with advanced knowledge
  • Properly escalate unresolved issues to internal teams for swift resolution
  • Represent the organization within Postgres communities, ensuring exceptional customer experiences
  • Develop and test troubleshooting strategies and mechanisms for EDB products in cloud environments
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex Postgres-based database solution issues, providing prompt and accurate feedback to customers
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of total experience in data management and support
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Warehouse solutions with an emphasis on Greenplum
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, analytical query design, and Kubernetes architecture
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Red Hat Openshift for database solutions
  • Experience mentoring junior and mid-level technical support engineers
  • Ability to lead critical incident calls and drive resolution under pressure
  • Ability to create detailed technical documentation for customers and internal teams
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal & written)
What Sets You Apart:

Redhat Linux certification (RHCE) is preferred, along with strengths in RHOS PostgreSQL Certified Professional Certifications related to Greenplum. Open Shift Administrator certification is also beneficial. A working knowledge of deployment/development on AI/ML applications and Gen AI skills would be an added advantage.
