Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Database Operations Expert to manage database environments for our applications using PostGres and/or MS-SQL DB technologies.

The successful candidate will ensure high availability and performance of the database environment, manage non-production, production, and disaster recovery database environments, and collaborate with support teams to optimize hardware resources.

Responsibilities include proactively monitoring to minimize downtime, conducting trend analysis for capacity planning, implementing enhancements, maintenance, and upgrades, coordinating with business and technical teams for change management, analyzing hardware issues before contacting support, and following Change Control procedures for system and application changes.

Key responsibilities also include developing and maintaining runbooks for HA and DR tests and executing them, implementing and supporting bank clearing applications across environments, including installation, releases, patches, and upgrades, and working with the architecture team on global infrastructure support.

As a Database Operations Expert, you will provide expert-level database knowledge to development teams on deployment and configuration best practices, utilizing your expertise in Postgres Enterprise and/or Community editions, experience with Red Hat Cluster, especially with PostGres, strong support skills in SQL and PostGres, understanding of architecture and operations within PostGres and MS-SQL environments, experience with RAC, RMAN, ASM, Data Guard, performance analysis, high-level Linux administration skills, familiarity with OEM and engineered systems like Exadata and ODA, proficiency in PostgresSQL on RHEL, SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting (Bash/Python), and capacity management and automation experience.
