Technical Expert for Database Solutions

We are seeking a seasoned technical expert to join our Support Services team as a Principal Support Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and managing Postgres databases, with a strong focus on customer support and partnership.

This role can be 100% remote and is located in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritizing and managing multiple open issues simultaneously, while serving as a subject matter expert in database solutions.

Impact You'll Make

As a Principal Support Engineer, you will have a significant impact on our customer's journey post-sale. Your technical leadership and input will shape the development of our customer support services, ensuring seamless integration, testing, tuning, administration, design, development, and planning of their EDB analytical solutions.

  • Lead the Support Services Analytics SME pod to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Properly escalate unresolved issues to internal teams for timely resolution.
  • Represent EDB and the analytics communities to advocate for customer-centric experiences.

In addition, you will test and develop troubleshooting strategies and mechanisms for EDB products, geared towards containers running on public/private cloud environments. Your expertise in Postgres-based database solution issues will enable you to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve complex problems promptly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and management of Postgres databases.
  • Customer support and partnership.
  • Technical leadership and input toward Customer Support's impact on customer needs.
  • Escalation of unresolved issues.
  • Representation within EDB and the analytics communities.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution of Postgres-based database solution issues.
