We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Chef to join our team in a respected aged care facility. As an Assistant Chef, you will assist the Head Chef with food preparation and service for daily meals, ensuring compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and infection control protocols.
The successful candidate will possess sound knowledge of safe food handling and HACCP procedures, as well as a friendly, can-do attitude and strong team spirit. They will be reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Head Chef with food preparation and service for daily meals
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene in line with food safety standards
- Follow dietary guidelines and individual resident meal plans
- Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and infection control protocols
- Support the team with stock rotation and general kitchen duties
- Previous experience in aged care or a similar commercial kitchen environment
- Sound knowledge of safe food handling and HACCP procedures
- A friendly, can-do attitude and strong team spirit
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high standards of care
- National Police Clearance (within 12 months)
- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations (including boosters as recommended)
- Food Safety Certificate (preferred)
