
Rail Network Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Rail Network Reliability Manager.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering a safe and reliable rail network and passenger fleet for Sydney Trains. This will involve overseeing all aspects of rail engineering, including strategy, design, construction, and maintenance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing resources and expertise to support the organisation in implementing best practice management of Sydney Trains' assets.
- Leading, managing, and delivering commercial contracts and supply chain services, focusing on supply chain performance and planning, contract management, and commercial management.
- Providing design, engineering, and technical assurance services to Sydney Trains and Tf NSW to ensure safety and integrity.
- Leading and delivering safe, reliable, and commercially competitive fleet maintenance services, including cleanliness and operational readiness.
- Delivering large-scale maintenance, renewal, and enhancements on the railway assets, including track, signals, control systems, electrical, and operational technology.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced executive leader with strong insight and experience within the engineering and/or maintenance fields. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership in a senior leadership role, preferably with a rail or engineering background.
Required skills and qualifications include:
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams and with other executive leaders.
- Confidently leading engineers and technical experts with the ability to challenge when necessary.
- Demonstrated experience developing, leading, and driving engineering and maintenance frameworks and systems across a diverse and complex organisation.
- Strong experience building relationships and dealing with stakeholders of all levels and the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales.
- Deep experience leading and building team maturity and leading through change and cultural reform.
- Strong experience managing the wellbeing and mental health of employees within a complex, operational organisation.
- Experience creating, delivering, and maintaining clear outcomes-focused frameworks across a large scale organisation.
