About the Role

Sharp & Carter is seeking an experienced Executive Manager Human Resources to lead the Human Resources function for Carinity, a leading not-for-profit, Christian-based care organisation. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and management across all aspects of Human Resources, ensuring alignment with organisational strategic business plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Workforce Direction: Provide leadership to align HR business objectives with organisational strategic business plans, ensuring managers, staff, and volunteers are supported in a manner that optimises their contribution.
  • Alignment of Workforce Services: Ensure alignment of all workforce services and functions to Carinity's strategic business objectives, leading the workforce team and encouraging performance at the highest level through a values-based culture.
  • Union Participation: Participate in union consultative committee meetings, liaise with unions on industrial issues, and monitor implementation of the Nurses Enterprise Bargaining Agreements and legislative requirements.
  • Policy Guidance: Guide policies and processes within the organisation to ensure compliance with Equal Opportunity Employment, Affirmative Action, Fair Work Australia, and relevant industrial instruments.
  • Business Network Development: Develop and participate in business networks, including Leading Age Services Queensland (LASA) and various Government Departments, ensuring Carinity is well-positioned to understand and initiate change within industrial frameworks.
  • People Management Training: Ensure all managers can implement effective people management and demonstrate value across the entire employment lifecycle, including recruitment/selection, Employee Value Proposition, engagement, performance management, employment relations, and staff development in accordance with Carinity's policies & procedures.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, industrial relations, employment relations, or related business discipline combined with demonstrated experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably within the Health, Aged Care, Community Care, or Education sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience and enjoyment in leading people, culture, and safety teams of eight or more individuals.
  • Highly advanced practical and theoretical knowledge of all human resources and industrial relations functions, modern practices, and policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder skills, with the ability to represent Carinity at senior levels and actively contribute as a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work within the Christian ethos and frameworks of Carinity.
  • Current Police clearance or willingness to obtain, and a current driver's licence.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undertake a fiduciary check and have the ability to pass an NDIS clearance.
