As a key player in our organisation's cargo security, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of goods and services that flow through our facilities.

We are seeking skilled Cargo Screeners to fill full-time and casual positions at our aviation facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough screenings of cargo and perform various security-related tasks, including gatehouse duties.

This role demands a high level of attention to detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen freight consignments using advanced screening equipment.
  • Adhere to established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with transportation security regulations.
  • Identify potential threats, prohibited items, and suspicious behaviors, and respond accordingly.
  • Document and report any security incidents or suspicious activities to relevant authorities.

Requirements:

  • Certificate II Transport Security Protection (Air Cargo Examination Officer) or equivalent qualification.
  • TAS Security Licence.
  • AUS or relevant port, Aviation Security Identification Card.
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills to identify potential threats and prohibited items.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with passengers and provide clear instructions.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with security regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to respond to security incidents and emergencies.
  • Proficient computer skills to operate security screening equipment and report incidents.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure efficient security screening processes.
  • Pass drug & alcohol testing.
