Are you looking for a challenging opportunity to contribute to the planning and coordination of Antarctic maritime operations?

As a Shipping Operations Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the operational planning and implementation of our annual shipping program.

The role involves coordinating the operationalisation of shipping interface capabilities, planning and implementing vessel port calls, and ensuring safe and efficient loading and discharge of cargo and support equipment.

You will also gather and analyse information from diverse sources to develop and review key operational documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), business continuity plans and training manuals.

In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including ship operators and stevedores, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in relation to cargo handling equipment and the import and export of cargo.

Key duties will include:

  • Supporting the operational planning and implementation of the annual shipping program;
  • Coordinating the operationalisation of shipping interface capabilities;
  • Planning and implementing vessel port calls;
  • Ensuring safe and efficient loading and discharge of cargo and support equipment;
  • Gathering and analysing information from diverse sources to develop and review key operational documentation;
  • Working closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

**Required skills and qualifications**:

  • Proven experience in shore side maritime logistics;
  • Proven experience in procurement, financial management and records management;
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of briefing and training programs;
  • Demonstrated stakeholder liaison experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in the production of procedures and operating instructions.
