Behaviour Support Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team in developing individualised strategies to manage and assist in reducing complex behaviours of young people in custody.

The ideal candidate will have experience in social work, psychology, counselling or behavioural therapy, and possess critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop behaviour support plans containing evidence-based, proactive strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Coaching unit staff to demonstrate and reinforce strengths based behaviour strategies
  • Attending community meetings to support and guide staff in engaging with young people

The successful candidate will understand the impact of trauma on young people's behaviour and be able to identify appropriate positive behaviour strategies based on individual needs.
