**About the Role...**
Reporting to the Head of People & Development who is also Melbourne based, your role as a People & Development Advisor will be be providing P&D services to Partners and staff, including specialist advice and coaching services, in a range of areas:

- Recruitment
- Performance Management
- Talent Retention
- Employee orientation, development and training
- Policy interpretation and documentation
- Compensation and benefits administration
- Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health; and
- Employee services and counselling.

You will work collaboratively with the national P&D team (including working closely with 2 other Advisors in the Melbourne office), to originate and implement P&D practices and objectives that will provide an employee-orientated, high performance culture that emphasises quality, productivity and the recruitment and retention of a talented workforce.
- **This role will either suit someone already at the Advisor level.**:

- **Experience gained in a law firm will be ideal, alternatively those with experience within a leading professional services firm** (eg. accounting and/or engineering) are **encouraged to apply**:

- Experience managing graduate and/or seasonal clerk programs (ideal)
- **Solid generalist P&D/HR experience** covering a wide range of HR issues, from both an operational _(essential) _and strategic _(ideal) _perspective
- Experience working with business owners/executive team
- Project management experience (ideal)
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and a strong client service focus
- Strong** 'hands on' HR style** with the ability to motivate and influence others
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
- 'Team player' ethos and have a high levels of discretion, integrity and commitment to the company's standards
- Initiative and a proactive approach
