Position Overview
As the Laboratory Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to oversee, coordinate, and enhance the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring adherence to product specifications and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Your role will be crucial in our facility, which produces a diverse range of dairy products, utilizing fresh milk sourced from local farms. Our operations are extensive, producing millions of liters annually, including popular flavored milk products.
This is a part-time position on a 12-month contract, requiring two days of work each week.
This role may be ideal for individuals seeking a flexible work arrangement or those looking to balance work and personal commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory systems and GLP standards.
- Ensure product compliance and conduct investigations as necessary.
- Oversee equipment servicing and calibration schedules.
- Facilitate laboratory programs, including sensory evaluations and pathogen testing.
- Ensure compliance with staff training requirements.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of a tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of food safety and quality assurance protocols.
- Experience in food manufacturing, particularly in dairy, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, GLP, and BRC standards.
- Proficient in SAPQM and INTELEX or similar systems is preferred.
