Horticulturist / Nursery Salesperson

_**MUST HOLD CERTIFICATE 3 IN HORTICULTURE**_
- **Position purpose**_
- To provide general overall care to plants and assist customers in selection and care of plants and other gardening requirements.

**Core objectives include**:

- **Main tasks**_
- Maintain plant stock by plant identification knowledge including pest and disease identification.
- Questioning customers on suitability of plant, soil and future plant location.
- Receive, sticker and display incoming plant stock, including identifying and rejecting sub-standard plants in a timely manner.
- Professional focus on customer service by greeting customers and asking if they need assistance.
- The role requires physical and manual handling of plants, trolleys, pots and bagged products and interaction with the public.
- Safe and appropriate use of machines and equipment
- Perform some administration duties
- Serving customers at the till and handling money transactions

- **Certificate III in Horticulture**:

- Forklift license (desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- **Experience**_
- Minimum of 12 months retail experience is a requirement. Ideally the individual will be passionate about plants and gardening with excellent knowledge and a strong desire to learn and grow in the industry

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $30.95 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 14 per week
