Perinatal Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate clinician to join our team at Gidget House, Point Cook.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering face-to-face psychological support to expectant and new parents, providing individual, couple, and parent-infant therapies to women and their partners.

Our perinatal mental health specialists provide a wide range of services, including pre-conception counselling, postnatal depression and anxiety treatment, and support for women and their partners experiencing pregnancy or childbirth-related loss.

As a perinatal mental health specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, developing your skills in evidence-based therapy and comprehensive assessment.

The role is full-time or part-time, with flexible start dates available. We offer centralised appointment booking and management, as well as opportunities for professional development and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver face-to-face psychological support to expectant and new parents
  • Provide individual, couple, and parent-infant therapies
  • Assess and treat perinatal mental health issues
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in psychology or social work
  • Registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
  • Experience working with perinatal clients or in a complementary field
  • Ability to work independently under approved professional supervision
  • High level communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
