This private not-for-profit philanthropic organisation is dedicated to supporting the activities of a renowned youth mental health research and treatment centre. The centre is highly regarded for its innovative mental health prevention and treatment programs targeting young Australians aged 5-25 years.
The organisation has ambitious growth targets and a committed Board of Directors who are passionate about furthering the centre's important work.
About the Role
This exciting leadership position reports directly to the centre's Director and Chair, and is responsible for growing and sustaining the organisation's revenue. With a strong focus on high-net-worth individuals, the Head of Philanthropy and Development will also explore additional funding opportunities and raise the profile of the centre's work.
The successful candidate will develop and implement a strategic plan to secure and facilitate transformational gifts, ensuring a donor-centric approach and diversifying philanthropic support.
About You
You are a highly experienced philanthropy and major gifts professional with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals. Your expertise in relationship fundraising, pipeline development, and strategy will drive the growth of the organisation.
You are a motivated and ambitious individual with strong organisational skills, able to support full relationship management of committed and generous donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the organisation in collaboration with the Board Chair and Centre Director
- Maintain close relationships with existing donors and cultivate new ones
- Conduct prospect research and identify new areas for funding opportunities
- Create and implement a bespoke donor acknowledgement and engagement strategy
- Provide financial and pipeline development updates, including realistic forecasting
- Meet and grow revenue targets
- Amply the centre's reputation and raise awareness of its work
