Provide Care and Support to Young People

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Residential Youth Worker who will provide care and support to young people in residential settings. The ideal candidate will establish a secure and nurturing home environment, offering guidance and support with personal care requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a secure and nurturing home environment for at-risk young people
  • Offer guidance and support with meal assistance and hygiene routines
  • Provide transportation for school, appointments, and community activities
  • Foster the development of skills and socialization within the local community, alongside promoting positive pro-social peer interactions
  • Support in the administration of medications and associated reporting requirements for children on Child Protection orders
  • Provide trauma-informed care to young people who display complex behavioural issues and traumatic backgrounds
  • Engage in the Trauma Recovery practice framework and undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within the first three months of your employment

Requirements:

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Social Work or similar (or be studying towards)
  • Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher)
  • Blue card & Yellow card
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate
  • 3 months paid experience as a Residential Youth Worker
