About the Role


The Assessor role at Suncorp Group is a critical position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and empathy. As an Assessor, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify loss and develop cost-effective solutions for repairs and remediation.


Key Responsibilities



  • Assess property loss or damage, determine policy coverage, and work closely with builders, engineers, restorers, and scoping consultants to determine reserves within delegation levels.
  • Proactively communicate clear and accurate advice, solutions, timeframes, and claim progress to stakeholders, including customers, claims managers, repairers, and suppliers.
  • Deliver professional and brilliant service when completing on-site, desktop, and virtual assessments, interacting with customers on the claims manager's request.
  • Support the claims manager to identify customer resolution strategies to minimize customer escalations.
  • Determine an appropriate claim fulfillment method that balances customer needs with business outcomes.
  • Identify customers experiencing vulnerability and take appropriate action to ensure the customer is supported.
  • Respond to customer and stakeholder requests within expected or agreed timeframes.
  • Clearly document all decisions made and reasons, including ownership details, reserve changes, and acceptance/rejection of claims.

Requirements



  • Home claims insurance, assessing, loss adjusting, or property manager experience.
  • Strong ability to interpret policies and determine the correct policy response.
  • Capability to use different technology/systems.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven performer in customer service roles.
  • Skilled in analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Current unrestricted driver's license.
