Job Title: Strategic Operations Coordinator

This is a key role within the Legal and Governance Division that requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and/or confidential matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of staff to deliver on initiatives and goals while striving to create an inclusive, responsive, and effective environment.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced operations coordinator to manage the Practice Management Unit (PMU). Reporting to the Chief Counsel, the PMU provides support for the division and the Chief Counsel. Key duties of the role include:

  • Administering the division's legal matter management system
  • Developing and managing templates and guides for our legal practice
  • Managing procurement of external legal services
  • Managing reporting obligations to the office of legal services coordination
  • Developing business plans
  • Recruitment and workforce planning
  • Coordinating professional development and training

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant previous experience in managing administrative teams
  • Experience in legal support is highly desirable
  • Proven skills in providing high-quality administrative, business, and financial support
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead, develop, and mentor staff and build a cohesive and collaborative team
  • A very high-level of professionalism, discretion, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and/or confidential matters
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, timely, and professionally

About This Opportunity
