About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Employment Coordinator to join our team at Flourish Australia. As an Employment Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health issues to achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert support to local Mental Health teams in the delivery of the DES program, ensuring jobseeker intake, initial appointments, and interviews are conducted in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Assess referred jobseekers' skills, vocational preferences, and barriers to employment, and provide support to local site teams in this process.
  • Engage with local businesses and employers to source and create job vacancies for Flourish Australia's jobseekers, promoting employment opportunities and outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing support, mentoring, and assistance to ensure the sustainability of jobseeker employment placements, tracking all placements to maximize employment outcomes.
Requirements
  • Experience within the Disability Employment Service industry, with a strong understanding of program guidelines and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including jobseekers, employers, and Mental Health teams.
  • Proven customer service experience, with demonstrable facilitation, presentation, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and client information management systems.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence, with a willingness to use a private motor vehicle for work-related purposes.
Desirable Qualifications
  • A personal lived experience of a mental health issue, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Qualifications in training and assessment, employment services, or related fields, with a strong understanding of employment support principles and practices.
  • Emerging knowledge of the local area and its health services, community services, and employment opportunities.
