Preventing Violence in Relationships

As a dedicated specialist, you will be working with individuals who use or are at risk of using violence in their relationships. Your role will involve providing support and services to men and young people who need help changing their behavior.

Job Description:

You will join the team at The Orange Door Croydon and work as part of an integrated practice approach to respond to family violence and children and family vulnerability concerns. Your key responsibilities will include screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation services and coordination of referrals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with perpetrators of violence, men / fathers
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or equivalent that meets Recommendation 209
  • The ability to work with children and families and/or family violence where there are complex needs and risk issues
  • Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma
  • The ability to identify, assess and prioritise risks and needs of clients in a whole of family approach
  • The ability to recognise and identify limits of own expertise and to seek advice or refer clients to other specialists
