**Job Overview**

As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will work with victims of family violence providing critical support and services to help them rebuild their lives. You will be part of a team that provides holistic care and interventions to prevent further harm.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assess and manage risk for victim survivors of family violence, developing and implementing safety plans tailored to their needs.
  • Engage with victim survivors using assertive and empathetic communication techniques, building trust and rapport to facilitate positive outcomes.
  • Provide outreach services, connecting with victim survivors in their homes or communities to offer support and guidance.
  • Advocate for victim survivors within the service system, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide secondary consultations, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance service delivery.

You will also have opportunities to develop your skills and expertise through training and professional development initiatives, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in family violence prevention and intervention.

**Requirements:**

  • Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with victim survivors of family violence, preferably in a crisis setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
