**Trauma Informed Counsellor Role**
\We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Trauma Informed Counsellor to provide specialized services to individuals, families and communities in Western NSW. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to deliver high-quality care and support.
\The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients and stakeholders. A strong understanding of trauma-informed principles and practices is essential, as well as experience working with children, young people, women, men, families and carers who have experienced physical abuse, emotional abuse and or neglect, child or adult sexual assault, exposure to or experience of domestic and family violence.
\In this role, you will provide confidential and non-judgmental support, guidance and therapy to clients, as well as participate in team meetings, case consultations and other professional development activities. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that promote health, wellbeing and safety for vulnerable populations.
\Key responsibilities include:
\- Providing individual, group and family counselling sessions to clients
- Conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans with clients
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to develop and implement care plans
- Participating in team meetings, case consultations and other professional development activities
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
\To be successful in this role, you will require:
\- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field such as psychology, social work or a related discipline
- Postgraduate qualifications in trauma-informed practice or a related area would be highly regarded
- Experience working in a trauma-informed environment, particularly with children, young people, women, men, families and carers who have experienced trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients and stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed principles and practices, including assessment, intervention and case management
