Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled professional to coordinate and deliver high-quality assessment, consultative, and referral services for children and young people with backgrounds of complex trauma, abuse, and/or neglect, and in some cases physical and/or psychosocial disabilities requiring support.

This role will involve delivering specialist support to care teams through therapeutic supervision, practice support, and leading reflective practice sessions.

  • Lead comprehensive assessments and develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans that meet the individual needs of our young people
  • Develop, review, and support implementation of relevant therapeutic support plans, such as Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Provide expert guidance and facilitate the development of effective strategies to prevent and respond to pain-based behaviour for young people
  • Deliver training on the CARE and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) models to ensure best practice is maintained
  • Advocate and lead evidence-informed therapeutic practice, aligned with the CARE and TCI models
  • Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for our young people

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or a related discipline
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body
  • Experience using evidence-based assessment tools with young people who have trauma-informed behaviour
  • Ability to develop and promote positive person-centred behaviour supports
  • Driver's Licence
