**Job Title:** Trauma Therapist

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of children and young people who have experienced complex trauma, abuse, and neglect. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading therapeutic assessments and developing comprehensive support plans that cater to their unique needs.

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify areas requiring intervention and develop Positive Behaviour Support Plans tailored to each individual's requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review and implement therapeutic support plans, ensuring seamless integration and effective outcomes.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to support staff in reflective practice, enabling them to develop effective strategies for preventing and responding to challenging behaviours.
  • Develop a deep understanding of evidence-based models such as CARE and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to deliver training and support services as needed.
  • Promote and uphold ethical, evidence-informed therapeutic practices aligned with industry best practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through proactive engagement and collaboration.
Requirements

A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or a related discipline is essential.

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body is mandatory.
  • Proven experience working with evidence-based assessment tools and young people with trauma-informed behaviour.
  • Ability to develop and promote positive, person-centred behaviour supports.
  • A current Driver's Licence is required.
