Senior Civil Engineer Role

This position is focused on delivering high-quality civil designs and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing civil design projects for in-house and external construction works
  • Ensuring quality control measures are in place for all civil construction projects, including new subdivisions
  • Coordinating with contractors to deliver works within Council's road reserves to an acceptable standard
  • Managing the relationship between the contractor operating Council's quarry and ensuring it meets its contractual and legislative requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a similar qualification
  • Professional registration as an engineer in accordance with the relevant legislation
  • Significant experience in a similar role, with a focus on civil engineering design and project management
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team of senior professional engineers and technical officers
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
