About the Role

As a Compliance Analyst, you will support the management of Defence Bank's risk and compliance systems, provide advice on regulatory changes, assist with incident reporting, and contribute to monitoring, testing, and reporting activities.

  • Maintenance of Risk & Compliance policy and procedure documentation

You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, developing and conducting monitoring and testing activities, preparing data and reports, and analysing complex situations to identify solutions.

Your success will be measured by your ability to build relationships, collaborate with colleagues, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Oversight and administration of the bank's central risk and compliance system, including ongoing monitoring and compliance obligation mapping
  2. Completion of compliance test activities directed by the Head of Compliance
  3. Maintenance of Risk & Compliance policy and procedure documentation and recommending updates where required
  4. Providing supporting advice to business units on proposed internal process or regulatory changes
  5. Assistance in the oversight and reporting of internally reported incidents and breaches, including reporting to regulators
  6. Compilation of monthly risk and compliance data and metrics for use as part of the department's monitoring and reporting activities
  7. Monitoring of key business exception reports and testing and escalating further action where necessary
  8. Providing ongoing support to the department's annual compliance monitoring and testing programs
  9. Assisting in the preparation, validation, and lodgement of regulatory and industry returns
Desired Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' relevant experience in financial services with a focus on risk and compliance activities
  • A good understanding of the banking and financial services regulatory environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, or Compliance

In addition, you will have demonstrated experience or skills in building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders, developing and conducting monitoring and testing activities, preparing data and reports, and analysing complex situations to identify solutions.
