About Us

This is a role within the Risk and Compliance Business Acceptance team, which provides practice support to Australian and Asia Pacific offices.

  • Practice Support: Assisting in on-boarding new clients and matters, ensuring accuracy in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Matter Inception: Conducting client due diligence, reviewing KYC documentation, and undertaking AML and sanctions searches as appropriate.
  • Engagement Terms: Assisting in maintaining a uniform application of engagement terms and reviewing client imposed terms.
  • On-going Monitoring and Risk Assessment: Reviewing changes to clients that may impact client or matter risk, dealing with these according to regulatory requirements.
  • Matter Maintenance: Ensuring accurate and up-to-date matter information.
  • Compliance Reporting: Assisting in producing spreadsheets to monitor client and matter inception process status, helping run weekly/monthly reports.
About You

To be successful, you should have excellent administrative skills, strong working relationships with lawyers and business services staff, and a rapid understanding of our business to support conflict decisions.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a compliance function at a professional services firm.
  • Bachelor of Laws or equivalent degree, with some legal work experience preferred.
  • AML experience.
  • Able to work within a framework of regulatory compliance.
  • Capability to identify conflicts and risk after training if necessary.
  • Resilience and ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships, working autonomously and as part of a global team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in an environment where quality output is paramount while dealing with tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and organisational skills, including managing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • High level proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
