
Surgical Care Specialist

A general surgery nurse is required to work closely with a registered nurse to implement and evaluate patient-focused care in line with nursing standards.
This role involves working in a multidisciplinary team, providing person-centred care and using effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute nursing and be able to organise and prioritise work effectively.
The successful applicant will join the general surgery team at a teaching hospital offering tertiary referral services in emergency care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery.
About the Role- Work closely with a registered nurse to implement and evaluate patient-focused care for patients, families, and carers in line with nursing standard practices.
- Provide person-centred care and use effective communication skills.
- Organise and prioritise work effectively.
- Current registration to practice as an enrolled nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Experience in acute nursing.
- Ability to work a flexible roster.
- Accrued day off (ADO) for full-time employees only.
