Optimize Supply Chain Operations

This role involves overseeing the end-to-end supply chain process, including sourcing, procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, and warehousing.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead sourcing activities including negotiations, costing, vendor selection, etc.
  • Participate in the selection of suppliers by analysis, evaluation, and handle operational relations and interfaces with selected suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier cost structures and negotiate pricing agreements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assess and mitigate risks related to supplier pricing and contracts.
  • Establish strong relationships with key suppliers, improve the overall supplier relationship management.
  • Oversee the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of raw materials and components.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Expedite Purchase Orders to ensure on-time-delivery, this includes physical visits to suppliers to check on progress.
  • Develop and manage inventory control processes to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and adjust inventory strategies as needed.
  • Ensure alignment between production schedules and inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Follow up with logistics to ensure timely inward & outward deliveries.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Epicor and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Import buying, custom-related transactions, trade laws, etc.
  • Cost analysis of supply chain operations.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in SCM.
  • Experience working with metal castings and/or suppliers of metal casting equipment.
  • Experience working in engineering environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Planning & organization skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize costs.
  • Develop and drive KPIs related to supply chain costs.
  • Prepare & report on supply chain metrics, performance, and initiatives.
